The Listening Centre: His Name Is Alive's album Ghost Tape EXP

I believe that I'm going to do a double shot of two albums from His Name Is Alive. This one I bought the full album off Qobuz, and I have Livonia coming this week in CD form. I just love this group so much. The very first introduction to them was I went to a little video rental place in the city, when I was going to university out here named Video Difference.

I went in one evening, and found a video tape of a compilation of the Brothers Quay short films called Stille Nacht V. They did two videos for His Name Is Alive  on there called Are We Still Married

and Can't Go Wrong Without You.

This album I came across just exploring their work on, at the time Spotify before moving to Qobuz for my streaming music platform, and put on Ghost Tape EXP which was the perfect album during the stormy rainy evening on Saturday. I ended up buying the download from Qobus after I relaxed and let the whole thing take me away.

This whole album has no vocals, so no dreamy vocals of Karin Oliver (my favorite voicalist from the group) but all the tracks seem to flow directly into the other, so it's like you are on one long journey with this album, than taking little stops in various sound cities.

Keep The Moon On Time, Sun Reflections, and Witch Marks are a few that stood out to me that I really enjoyed, however the whole album is a dreamy experience.

Happy listening this week.
