A little gift box

When I think of a woman who shaped me as a woman, especially in my creative endeavors, has to be Charlotte Perkins Gillman. When I was a very young girl, I read a book of short Victorian era ghost stories, which had her story The Yellow Wallpaper in it. However, this wasn't necessarily a creepy ghost story when you moved through it. It's about a woman who is kind of going mad because she keeps seeing another woman who is perhaps the image of herself moving in and out of the patterns of her wallpaper. The whole story oozes of a woman who feels trapped, not only within herself, but within society. It left a impact on me that I didn't realize what it was until I read it when I got much older. I hope you enjoy the story as well.
