The Listening Centre: Hellvete Voor Harmonium
This album of the week is by this great group called Hellvete. There's also a great black metal band by the same name if you want to check them out here. However, this is a different group/artist of the same name.
Now, I believe that Hellvete is from Belgium because their album was released on the Belgian record label Aguirrer. I can't find any other info out there about this band. The mystery of them adds to the wonderful atmospheric ambience of their album Voor Harmonium. I came upon this just randomly looking for some new ambient tracks on bandcamp.
You can check out the album here.
If anyone knows more about this band, feel free to leave a comment. I'd love to know more about them, and get more of their music.

A morning errand run with my new Kodak DX3600
So as you may know, I'm into lomography. Basically I love using toy and vintage cameras. Actually, I should make a photo page at the top menu today to place some of my photography aside from in these posts. Anyway, I ended up getting my hands on this Kodak DX3600 yesterday.

2.2 Mega pixel goodness
So to get acquainted with this camera, I took it on my morning errands and put it to the test.
So I got ready for the day,
The ever classic bathroom mirror shot
Hit the surplus shop. (Redacted phone number)
Picked up a cool bag for the bike, and a hand crank key chain flash light.
Going to the supermarket I took a random photo of the cool mirrored building close by.
Then coming home, I got some footage of the ride across the bridge. I love the video camera on this thing. It makes it look like an old film strip on the lowest setting which is 160x120. The other setting on it is 320x240, and just looks like what you would expect from a late 90s and early 2000 camcorder look. But I love the low-fi-ness of cameras. I can see me using this setting a lot for some experimental stuff.
This only shoots in .MOV so I had to convert it to MP4 in Kdenlive, also I muted the audio of me and my dude talking. So it does take audio just I extracted it in Kdenlive. The audio though is what you would expect from a camera from 2001.
So that's my new baby! I really love the softness to the photos, and the noisiness of the video it takes.

The Listening Centre: G-Gas Generation Gas Demo tape
The Album of the week is a demo I came across the other day, which is not an album I own. With all hopes, that wouldn't be so very long, as I need to get myself a copy of this.
G-Gas or Generation Gas is an awesome punk band that I found on this person's youtube channel. I don't know much about this band yet, but I did find copies of this listed on discogs. I'm very tempted to spend $100 Canadian to get a copy of this. This is the best thing about punk, and underground music in general,(using underground as a blanket term for most music I love that's on the fringe and not mainstream) that just when you think you have heard all you can find, something new always comes your way. Big thanks to the person behind the channel who uploaded this. I would have never heard of them if they didn't.

The Listening Centre: Cherrystones Presents Critical Mass album
I've been so busy lately that I've not had time to sit down on the weekend to present a Monday album of the week yesterday. However, I had time to relax last night and put on an album to listen to. I have purchased recently the amazing compilation called Cherrystones Presents Critical Mass Splinters From The Worldwide New-Wave, Post-Punk and Industrial Underground 1978 - 1984.
Enjoy listening to this album. I hope to check out more Cherrystone Presents compilations, and more from Belfast's Touch Sensitive Records.
