Dream Breath

Site Update:The Daily Box Of Delights

 Good morning!

So I found out how to add some HTML stuff to the sides of the site here.

So remembering my former website basic coding knowledge, I made a little box

located over there ------------->

I call it a little daily box of delights, where I'm going to post something. Anything. It could be a photo, link to some place cool, a song (like this morning, I'm sharing from my drive, one of my favourite minimal wave songs from the 80s obscure Canadian group, The Art Effects.0 I could also post a little small drawing or just some sort of random writing piece, basically a small little corner to have some fun with.

So check it out as after the day is finished, the box's contents are gone and replaced by something new.

Have an awesome Thursday, and keep breathing in stardust.

Moving Through Blindness

The Listening Centre - Blockhead 2015 Demo

Hi everyone, time for the album of the week. This week, it has to go to Vancouver punk band called Blockhead. I came across them looking for some good Canadian hardcore, and after sampling this demo, I had to buy it. Death Shake and Under The Boot are my two favorites off this, but they're all awesome. Just good old fashioned hardcore punk. Not much more to say about it. I've had a very busy week and when I was loosing some energy, I threw the this on in my headphones really loud, drank a cup of coffee and got back into things. Awesome band. I have to check out more of their stuff when I get the chance.

Coffee Chat-Come on in, it's been a while!

Good morning everyone, it's been a while since I invited you all in for a coffee at the kitchen table.

Help yourself to a funny face mug and have a seat.

Don't sit too close though, I have a bit of a cold, I think.

Self-portrait of me having a small cold

Though, I've been very busy at work, and most of my job is physical, so I don't know if it's because my body is tired, and needs a rest, or I have that over all feeling like a cold is coming on.

Anyway, (takes a sip of coffee) Let's have a little catch up.

Funny face mug and Pizza Dude

He's been a great help around the old place here.

I've kind of organized things a little bit around here. Added a background of a great photo of the highway I took with my holga camera, and have been developing my film myself! Just the negatives.

I have a great place for it, as my basement is so dark that it makes the perfect darkroom as it has no windows. So I have a small amateur little set up in the far corner of it. I was thinking of developing actual pictures other than just negatives, but from what I hear, you need good ventilation for that.

Anyway, here's a few other photos I took and developed.

The quirks in the vintage toy camera, with the light leaks, odd over exposures make it kind of fun to use. Also it has this odd thing where it may not roll the film all the way so I end up with three photos kind of over lapping, which leads to cool effects.

I should really do up a page at the top here with my photos I take. I had it's own area on my old website before moving here. I don't know why I didn't make one.

Anyway that all aside, the next thing that may seem a little different is that I don't do a daily song shuffle. I have put that sort of thing as it's own little spot on the side here, and just do an album of the week type of thing, where I share what really caught my ear over the weekend. I do love music, but this isn't really what my blog is mostly for, so doing it daily took away from focusing on my daily writing pieces. Oh! Also I do a quick little doodle.

I've been having to use my TCL nxtpaper phone mostly for work because I have been on the go at job sites for the last while, and trying to type and conference in on my blackberry has been hell, never mind the flip phone I also use. But the TCL phone made me love how good it is for reading books on, as it's an ereader type of phone, and the screen feels like paper. Very similar to my kindle scribe.
So I added something just called "Sketchbook" on it. Playing with that with the stylus, as I'm waiting in the morning for my coffee to brew has been great fun. It seems to kick start my mind into that creative zone, and makes sitting down to do the morning poem a lot quicker.

Other than that, everything else has been kind of the same. OH! Other thing I ended up getting rid of the "Bin Child" channel because I don't want to have a billion channels to look after, and so I have been moving videos over to the channel I wanted to create with this blog's name attached. Potato Camera Creations is still as it is, because that's more for sillier comic stuff. Though it would be fun to move it all over here eventually, but that channel has had an abundance of videos on it, so I think it's best to leave it as is, though I may put my favourites on the dystopian channel. I don't know yet.

OK. That seems to be all I had to get off my chest. So be on the look out for the photography page at the top later today when I've finished some errands I have to run.

Just a sip of coffee left.

Thanks for stopping by for coffee. Talk to you all again sometime soon.

Keep breathing in stardust you beautiful creatures.

Memory Honey

Daily Doodle - Trying to draw a memory

When I was little, and we went to visit my grandmother, she had a swamp area in the back of her house, and we would go there to play and explore. The most I remember about that time, was the huge cattail plants that were there. Every once in a while, I could be doing something, and the memory of these huge cattails would come into my mind. Also the smell of honey can bring this memory on. I remember she used to make lusknikn, which is what Mi'kmaq people call their traditional fry bread, and she would put some honey on top for me as a treat. That could be why. Or it was just the scent of the wildflowers that grew around there. Either way, its such a sweet memory that seems like a dream now.
